Voice Stories

Hear the Story
Behind Every Photo.

Record a story right on a family photo: who is in it, where it was taken, why it mattered — in their own voice, kept with the picture.

Record your first story

Start with one photo and one voice.

A caption can't say it the way they can.

Almost every family has someone with decades of stories, and those stories are the first thing lost. The best way to catch them is to invite that person into your family's vault with a free account, where they can record on any photo and hear everyone else's stories too. And if someone can't or doesn't want to sign up, a Story Link on their phone is all it takes.

How voice stories work

1. Add the photos

Put your family photos in a vault, a private space for one family's photos and stories. Your free account is all you need to start.

2. Invite family to record

Tap record on any photo to tell a story yourself, and invite relatives to your vault: with a free account, as a vault member, they can record stories on any photo they can see, right in the app. For someone who can't or doesn't want to sign up, send a Story Link instead.

3. The story stays with the photo

Every recording is attached to the photo it was told about, so family can play it whenever they open the picture.

Can't or won't sign up? Send a Story Link.

Signing up is the best way to take part: it's free, and members can record on any photo and hear every story. But some relatives can't or don't want to, and a Story Link lets them record from their phone with no app and no account. If they can open a text message, they can tell a story.

  1. You choose the photos you want them to talk about and create a Story Link.
  2. You send the link by text, email, or however you reach them.
  3. They open it on their phone, enter their name, tap a photo, and record.
  4. They can record on as many of the photos as you picked. Their stories land in your vault, ready for the family to hear.

Works in the phone's browser. They can create a free account later to hear the recordings again and record on more photos, but they never have to.

Built to be kept, found, and shared on your terms

Transcripts you can search

Every voice story is turned into text, so you can find a story by what was said or by who recorded it. Family in the vault can read the transcript under each story and fix any word it got wrong. Transcription currently works for English.

You decide who hears them

Stories are private to your vault. When you publish a Memory Wall or a public collection, visitors can play the stories on it. Transcripts stay with signed-in family.

Only people you invite can record

Recording is open to people you invite to your vault as members and to people you send a Story Link. Nobody can add a recording to your photos from a public page.

The voices stay yours

Your photos and the stories told about them belong to your family, and you can take them with you whenever you like.

The stories only the people who were there can tell.

Start with one photo and one relative, and record while you still can.
