How Legacy Contacts Work

Four steps, and only the first one needs you.

1

Name up to three people

Legacy Contacts are set once on your account — not vault by vault. Whoever you name covers everything you've built.

2

They confirm by email

Each person gets a link and confirms. Both sides can always see the arrangement: who you named, and who named you.

3

Nothing happens quickly

A contact can only request access after your account has been inactive for a waiting period. A quiet month changes nothing.

4

They become an admin

Access is granted across all of your vaults, so the photos and voice stories stay usable by the family instead of locked away.

Handing over an archive should take a human being.

Legacy access opens the vaults. Transferring ownership outright is done with our support team — deliberately, with a person involved. We'd rather add a step than let a lifetime of family photos change hands automatically.

You stay in control

Remove or change a contact whenever you like. They're notified by email, so nobody is quietly dropped or quietly added.

Nothing is held hostage

Export any vault at full resolution, any time — while you're here, and after. No plan, no permission, no questions.

The photos are only half of it. The voices are the part you can't replace.

Record the stories now, name who inherits them, and the archive keeps working long after you've stopped adding to it.
